Come join OccupyStJoe. We are a group of people who love our country and who are joining with other groups across the country who are deeply concerned about corporate greed and economic injustice. We have families and some are lucky enough to be employed even though, 8.8% of Missourians are unemployed or unemployable. Too many people have lost their jobs, homes and pensions because of Wall Street greed, fraud and criminlaity. The richest one percent of the world's population and OUR Nation's population have been and will continue to ursurp the government through legislation bought by lobyists to enforce failing and ludicrous standards of trade and economic policies as well as this country's financial institutions.
We are protesting the corporate takeover of our politics, a takeover which is systematically dismantling our democracy. It is unnacceptable that corporate lobbyists are writing our legislation. Interests rates drop and more money is printed by this Nation's Monetary Reserve, the "Federal Reserve," a Corporate bank that lends America $ with debt... It's called the Dollar. When this Bank lends us with money (That we could print ourselves) it does so with interest. What a Crazy Idea! Our Founding Fathers fought the Revolutionary war over this main cause. And their worst fears have come true! How many have died for this country? Is there a pricetag we're not willing to pay for what we want? Those who can't afford it steal it back if they want it bad enough. We own our governements and they're making us more poor because we borrow and wastefully spend Trillions of dollars every year.
This is an opportunity to stop this process, an opportunity for YOU to take part in our democracy. come to the Civic Center Park any evening at 6:30 pm where, as active citizens, you will have the opportunity to express your thoughts and feelings, and plan for a major gathering. Only by standing together in solidarity in sufficient numbers can we Stop Wall Street greed and the corporate takeover of our democracy in the United States of America and the Republic which Stands!
